Unit 3 Review
Today we reviewed the concepts that will be on tomorrow's math test. We did this by making videos where we had to really explain our thinking!
Composite vs. Prime numbers
By Colin and Hayden
(remember, composite numbers have more than one factor pairs and prime numbers only have one factor pair: 1 and itself)
Factor Rainbows and Factor Pairs
By Reagan and Savannah
Multiplying (using lattice - multiply first, add diagonals
seond)By Nick, Jack, and Jake
Area and Perimeter
area - inside of a figure
A = length x width
perimeter - outside of the figure
P = (length + length) + (width + width)

Math Facts Websites
Here
are some great websites to help practice with the nightly math facts! The
awesome thing about these games is that most actually allow you to play on your
computer or tablets! I've listed some of the specific games below, but once you get to the site, you can see that there are several different games that would help reinforce these skills.

Literacy Research Project
With the completion of
our second literacy unit, Tales of the Heart, kiddos had to put what they learned
to work. Everyone completed a totally independent research project. The topic
was self-selected (focusing on the human body), research done alone, presentation
created, and then shared with the class via Edmodo.
The presentation was
done by “app smashing” two different apps: ChatterPix and ThingLink. We had a
lot of fun making these and enjoyed seeing one another’s projects.
Here are their final
products:
